INDX tool holders

INDX tool holders

INDX tool holders are secured to the Front profile, and threaded directly into the plastic.

Assembling the tool holder

We don't like this design because the thread has already broken off on a few of our tool holders.

We offer an alternative using square nuts.

On the left is the original. You can see that the standoff has completely broken. Our version is on the right, printed in Prusament Jet Black PC. This gives several benefits:

  1. Save your wrists from turning screws. Prusa advises pre-cutting the thread by turning the screws first, so if you have 8 tools, you have to turn screws into PETG 48 times (2 screws per tool holder, 8 tools, screw twice, unscrew once). OUCH!

  2. Adjust the tension against the profile without damaging the printed part

  3. Able to remove the square nuts and magnets easily

  4. PC has high creep resistance and can withstand high temperatures

  5. Weighs about the same as the original

Note the little access port directly above the white arrow (tool 5). Just use a thin object to push the magnet out from the other side when you're ready to salvage or replace them. You can't do this on the original (left tool holder in image, tool 4).
